SANTA BARBARA, CALIF., May 24, 2010 – PRG Real Estate Management Inc. has streamlined key business processes by adopting products from the Yardi Multifamily Suite™ — Yardi Procure to Pay™, Yardi Payment Processing™, and Yardi Portal™ — that expand the capabilities of the company’s Yardi Voyager™ property management and accounting system.
Aiming to create a paperless work environment, PRG sought new solutions for several aspects of its business, including building maintenance supply procurement, rent collection, and marketing. Eliminating multiple platforms was crucial to the initiative’s success.
Yardi Procure to Pay will shorten PRG’s invoice processing cycle time with automated workflows. Also, by purchasing goods and services exclusively from approved suppliers at pre-negotiated rates, the company will gain greater budget oversight. “In addition, routing approvals and vendor payments electronically, rather than copying invoices and mailing them around our offices, will save us a lot of money and paper,” said Dilan Desilva, PRG’s chief technology officer.
PRG anticipates reducing rent payment processing costs with Yardi Payment Processing, which gives residents the option to pay rent online through Yardi Portal. For residents who pay with checks or money orders, the company will use Yardi CHECKscan™ to scan those payments as electronic transactions. “Payment Processing will save staff time and money by eliminating trips to the bank,” Desilva said.
With Yardi Portal, PRG displays real-time unit availability using dynamic integration between the company’s property websites and Yardi Voyager. “We anticipate improving occupancy rates across our portfolio as a result,” Desilva said.
Yardi also provides hosting services to PRG through its Application Service Provider (ASP) cloud computing model. With ASP, Yardi serves and maintains the Voyager application and database for PRG from its data center. Yardi assumes responsibility for all application updates, network security, hardware, bandwidth and infrastructure, allowing PRG to focus on its principal business.
