SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Salt Lake City based Centershift, Inc. today announced that Terry Bagley will transition out of his position as President and CEO, effective today. Mr. Bagley had previously determined the time was right to apply his experience in other endeavors and has initiated the process of transitioning his leadership role in Centershift. As part of this transition, Mr. Bagley has also resigned his seat on the Centershift board of directors.
For the past 11 years, Mr. Bagley had been instrumental in guiding Centershift’s growth in the self-storage management software industry. His sales vision and unparalleled ability to build mutually beneficial business partnerships were key to entrenching Centershift as the industry’s technology leader. “Terry brought a lot of skill and talent to the table, and Centershift relied heavily upon Terry throughout the last decade to solidify our leadership position in the industry. We certainly wish him all the best in the future,” said Centershift spokesperson John Bilton. Mr. Bagley will continue to work with Centershift on a consultative basis in the near term to further ensure an optimal transition.

In succeeding Bagley, Centershift has announced the appointment of James Hafen to the position of President and CEO. Mr. Hafen is one of the original founders of Centershift and was previously serving as a Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer since 2001. Mr. Hafen brings a vast amount of business and technology experience to his new role as leader of the Company. Mr. Hafen has worked in various capacities at several technology-based companies, including Megahertz, US Robotics, Seagate, and Evans and Sutherland. Additionally, Mr. Hafen also served as Director of Application Development at Extra Space Storage, where he was the visionary and architect of the industry’s first Internet based storage management system that, after being spun out of Extra Space, later evolved into the Centershift StoreTM application. Mr. Hafen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Utah. Mr. Hafen will also assume a seat on the Centershift board of directors.

In addition to naming a new CEO, Centershift made the following changes to its senior management team to better align with future growth plans, effective immediately: Mark Smith has been named as Senior Vice President of Product Strategy. Mr. Smith is also a founding member of the Company. David Voorhies has also been promoted to Senior Vice President of Product Development. Mr. Voorhies has been with the Company for 11 years and was previously serving as Vice President of Application
Services. Additionally, Steve Hall has been promoted to Vice President of Operations. Mr. Hall had spent the previous four years in the capacity of Systems and Operations Manager for the Company.
