Best iPhone Cases
By Anca Gagiuc on Dec 22, 2015 in Technology
Many of us purchased (or were gifted) new smartphones. Many with new smartphones have the new iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus. Like the iPhone 6, the newer version can be a little slippery – it’s rather thin and without sharp edges. Now it’s time to find suitable protection for it, as no one wants to experience that uh-oh moment when your iPhone slips out of your hand and goes falling to the hard floor.
We’ve made a list of the top choices. Any favorites that are left off?
- Incipio Feather Shine is a sophisticated case made of rigid ABS polycarbonate frame with a premium brushed aluminum style finish. It protects the device against dents and scratches while looking dashing. It’s available in six colors on Incipio’s website.
- Incipio Edge Chrome mixes durable protection with fashionable flair. Its frame is made of Plextonium™ polycarbonate that covers all edges. Moreover, the case is comprised of two-piece sliding design for docking and device removal.
- Silk Innovation PureView Case is an ultra slim protective case against drops, dings, and scratches. It combines a sleek, shock-absorbent rubber bumper with a crystal clear polycarbonate back shell. Users can personalize it through customizable inserts that fit behind the clear back shell.
- Casetify also allows its customers to turn their photos into a case, besides the designer collection.
- Radius v2 looks like a stripped down bumper with snap-on convenience that protects the corners and rear of the iPhone, the areas most susceptible to damage when dropped. This minimal design makes Radius v2 extremely light. Color options include polished aluminum, slate, red accents and gold, and a special titanium version.
- Apple makes its own lineup of branded leather and silicone products. This year’s color palette is slightly different from last year’s. Both models feature an open-front design with raised nubs for volume and power buttons, mute switch access, camera and flash access and a microfiber lining.
- Smart Battery Case Apple is a challenger to Mophie and other companies that offer similar cases through that famous bump on its back. It’s made of matte silicone with a soft microfiber lining on the inside that protects the iPhone. The extra battery case increases talk time to 25 hours, internet use up to 18 hours on LTE, and longer audio and video playback. The case supports Lightning accessories, but for $99 you only get the case, not the Lightning to USB cable.
- Manfrotto KLYP+ does more than just protect your phone for bumps and knocks, it also allows users to attach Manfrotto lenses to create different effects. It’s made from polycarbonate with TPU accents and has a protective bumper for the device even when not on a photographic mission.
- Tech Armor Active Series is a tough case made from durable TPU material with contoured cutouts for ports and buttons. For something more discreet, there’s also TechArmor’s minimal Slim Protect case, which features a fingerprint- and scratch-resistant backing in a translucent TPU body.
- Leather Wallet Case by Mujjo is perfect if you wish a wallet case that looks great and doesn’t “fatten” your iPhone. It’s crafted from high quality vegetable-tanned leather, waxed to extend durability, and treated with aniline oil to boost color tones.
- Pad and Quill the Little Pocket Book flaunts its handmade American top grain leather cover with beautiful hand-finished real wood cradle for rugged protection. It has 5 inner card pockets, including a clear ID pocket and hidden cash pocket. Available in 5 colors.
- Alto Leather Case is a high-quality Italian leather in vibrant colors. Bellissima!
- Pong Sleek Case is a special kind of case. It reduces the user’s exposure to radiation (SAR) by up to 89 percent below FCC limit for an iPhone 6/6S. Furthermore, it provides protection from 4 foot drops and is tested to U.S. military drop standards.
- Inner Exile Hydra Self-Healing Case might look a bit boring at first, available in transparent, black and pink. Like most plastic cases, it’s pretty basic. The cool thing about it is that Hydra has a patented coating that helps it “heal” itself when scratched. Of course, deep scratches won’t disappear.
- Tenc Case is a near invisible, self-mending case made out of auto-healing smart materials tailored to fit the curvy iPhone 6S. This too heals only the “surface scratches”, thus if you poke with your knife, it won’t heal itself. Still, it’s magical to watch!
- Acme Charge Case is an impact-resistant polycarbonate case with a kickstand that holds an USB cable. Pretty amazing, right?
- Catalyst Waterproof Case was designed and built for freedom in and around the water. The case is waterproof down to 3 meters (9.8 feet) deep and drop proof to 2 meters (6.6 feet), while at the same time providing full access to all of the iPhone’s features.
