Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort: Vacant Housing Registries Sought

Share

Yardi Systems would like to help support Hurricane Katrina relief efforts by providing you with information about ways you may assist with this important endeavor. Please be aware that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency have established www.hurricanehousing.org as the main Internet repository for Hurricane Katrina available housing units. This new Web site allows housing providers to list their available units, and will soon include a search engine for disaster victims to locate housing.

We would like to encourage our customers to list as many available units as possible, particularly those in east Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, southern Missouri, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. Long-term housing will also be needed across the United States, not just in the areas surrounding the disaster site, so please list units available anywhere in the country.

Shelters and emergency housing are also needed, so if you are able to assist with either of these types of housing, including offering vacant land, please contact your local Red Cross directly at www.redcross.org.
