SANTA BARBARA, CA; AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS; July 11, 2006 — Yardi Systems, the industry leader for asset and property management solutions, has agreed to be a sponsor of the Amsterdam School of Real Estate (ASRE). ASRE, the scientific institute for the real estate sector, is the result of a joint initiative from a number of major Dutch real estate companies, the Dutch government and the University of Amsterdam. Its mission is to bridge the gap between science and practice.
ASRE offers education at the university level, but regularly uses leading people from the real estate industry to guarantee that the curriculum retains a business perspective. In 2005, 61 students received a Masters degree from ASRE (36 Masters of Real Estate and 25 Masters of Science in Real Estate), and since the start of ASRE, more than 520 MRE degrees have been conferred.
More recently, ASRE has started to broaden its curriculum by offering courses specifically aimed at real estate companies and branch organizations. In February 2006, it expanded its course offerings by introducing classes in asset management that include strategic management, legal structuring, financial management and asset management. So far, ASRE has been very encouraged by the level of interest and enrollment in these courses.
Yardi’s sponsorship of ASRE supports its strategy to help develop the real estate market in Europe.
