Real estate technology provider supports recovery effort through online housing website and extra assistance for affected clients
SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Sept. 15, 2017 โ For a second time in two weeks Yardi and its clients found themselves mobilizing for a natural disaster response. With Hurricane Irma wreaking havoc in Florida and its southeastern island neighbors, Yardi launched another dedicated housing registry, RentCafe.com/HurricaneIrma, to assist displaced residents.ย Leveraging its RentCafe property marketing and leasing platform, the site allows displaced residents to find temporary or permanent homes and for housing providers with properties in the affected and surrounding areas to list available units, some with special concessions.
There is no charge for housing providers to list their properties on the website or for residents to use it. Yardi has also launched a hotline that evacuees looking for housing can call for housing assistance. The toll-free number is (844) 363-6317.
โThe best case scenario for everyone is that our disaster response efforts remain untested, but we have them in place so that we can aid those in need,โ said Gordon Morrell, executive vice president at Yardi. โAs we did for the people affected by Hurricane Harvey, we are ready to help the people displaced by Hurricane Irma get back on their feet as quickly as possible.โ
Yardi is offering disaster response assistance for clients affected by either hurricane, including additional program support and tools to help clients communicate with their residents during the aftermath. Yardi representatives are reaching out to clients in the affected areas to offer these and other services at no charge.
