SANTA BARBARA, CA, June 20, 2007 — Yardi Systems, the global leader in asset and property management software, is pleased to announce the completion of its first annual vendor integration conference for third-party service providers interested in integrating with Yardi software solutions. The conference took place on May 30 at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara, CA and hosted approximately 100 attendees eager to learn about Yardi’s Interface Program. This is the first conference of its kind within the industry, and Yardi looks forward to continuing the tradition and supporting MITS (Multifamily Information and Transactions Standards).
“As an industry leader and highly active participant in the MITS initiative, we recognize the need to bring everyone onto the same page,” says Tamara Berndt, Residential Portfolio Product Manager, Yardi Systems. “It’s important for our clients to have the ability to integrate with peripheral services they need within their fully integrated property management system, and the only way we can accomplish this is by establishing industry standards. It’s all about making sure we’re speaking the same language and working together to provide the best possible service to the client.”
Yardi interfaces are MITS-compliant XML data exchanges between vendors in the areas of applicant screening, billing and payments, payables and Internet listing service (ILS)/Guest Card. By working with vendors such as Kroll Factual Data (applicant screening) in a forum environment such as this conference, Yardi is able to better understand the needs of the vendor balanced with the needs of MITS standards for development. “This conference provided an open environment to discuss development issues, timelines and future planning, as well as the opportunity to enhance relationships which are the foundation of successful business,” comments Kit Baker-Carr, Managing Director, Residential Screening, Kroll Factual Data.
“The Yardi vendor integration conference, and the implementation of the MITS data transfer standards in their software integration processes, is another example of Yardi’s leadership in the MITS effort,” noted David Cardwell, Vice President of Capital Markets and Technology for the National Multi Housing Council and Director of the MITS initiative. “The significant number of software firms that attended the conference, along with the growing number of companies using MITS as a key part of their software integration, underscores the value of data standards in the multifamily industry.”
About MITS
Multifamily Information and Transactions Standards (MITS) is an industry-wide effort by the apartment sector to develop common data standards and extensible mark-up language (XML) protocol to facilitate data and systems integration. MITS standards are freely available as an industry resource. MITS is funded and sponsored by a broad group of industry firms and is supported by the National Multi Housing Council and national outreach partner, the National Apartment Association. Participation by all interested parties is welcomed and encouraged. A listing of MITS member firms can be found on the MITS Sponsor page at www.mitsproject.org.
